A to Z of Biblical Baby Names

A to Z of Biblical Baby Names

We respond to our name throughout our lives. People associate us with our first name; it forms part of our identity. They help to distinguish us from one to another. Other people gain immediate and sometimes totally subconscious views of people, just from hearing a name they can therefore give us a distinct advantage in life, or conversely, a disadvantage!

The choice of a Biblical name is, therefore, incredibly important. And those of us who choose to select a baby's name from the bible are taking on a responsible task! This book contains over 2,000 Biblical baby names and meanings to help you find the perfect name for your new baby!

The baby names are listed alphabetically; each section can be accessed from clicking on the relevant letter in the table of contents. Easy to navigate; a link has also been provided at the end of each list back to the main table of contents.

Letter Eleven. Love letters in the Sand letters from Kiara by JasMine Snow. Dear Charlie, I can see forever by means of God's Word. The spirit of the sword is symbolic for God's Word.

We need to take in knowledge of the bible if we are to learn about God's requirements in how He is to be worshiped correctly. God is a spirit. He is not flesh & bones. He is a unique & Almighty Spirit in the sky. God is love this is why He sent His first born Son. We must consider the fact that God created us just as He has created His first born Son in heaven.

Life began in heaven with the Arch angel. With the Arch angel Micheal being the first born of all creation according to ancient prophecy in the bible. Taking in accurate knowledge is lifesaving.

God is showing us the way to Him through His Son's earthly ministry when on earth Jesus taught the good news of God's Kingdom. By taking in the lifesaving knowledge of God, we to can become prepared before Armageddon strikes. Become prepared by making the choice to belong to the true God through His resurrected Christ. Jesus said: "He that has my commandments and observes them, is he that loves me."

One needs to understand that Jesus Christ is no longer a baby in the manger in need of his earthly parents as Christ is alive in Today Christ Jesus is in heaven back to his original form. He and His Father God are spirit beings each possessing a celestial soul. The soul spoken of in the bible are of two kinds one being human and the other celestial in bodies. Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight."

God is Love and love will save you if you allow love to enter into your life by God’s light. Remain in God's love by learning and doing as Love requires of us. Armageddon is God’s War not mans. God says at 2 Peter 2 : 5-7: “and he did not hold back from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a deluge upon a world of ungodly people; and by reducing the cities Sod?om and Go·mor?rah to ashes he condemned them, setting a pattern for ungodly persons of things to come; and he delivered righteous Lot, who was greatly distressed by the indulgence of the law-defying people in loose conduct”.

God clearly states by His Word to each one of us paying attention: 'Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.' 2 Peters 3: 9. The bible is an ancient book like non other to exist on earth defined by God's prophetic messages.
The bible is the map & Jesus is our Shepherd leading his sheep through the end of days onto the narrow path leading straight into Paradise.

People alive today and some as far back as 1914 are the generation that will not pass away. They see Armageddon the promised Day of God. God has had His Prophetic Word written down for us in the bible that we may know all things before they actually take place. The good news of God's Kingdom is for those wanting it. The scriptures predict the destruction of the old system. “the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.” 1 John 2:17.

Be embraced by God's Love and let His Holy Spirit be your strength. Love to you my beloved Charles from Kiara. I am the barefoot shepherdess in search of my dear one. To you my dear one, I will sing the song of the superlative love I have always held for you. As for the earthly kings and their riches never could they steal me away from you. Charlie & Kiara are Between Two Worlds and Armageddon a selective and divine war is soon to occur on planet earth. But first Babylon the Great must be completely destroyed before the dark world can be ushered out .

The dark world has been judged to be ushered out by its destruction come God's hour of war. You are reading prophecy in action. The divine war cry has been sounded out since 1914. No one should say I had not time to prepare. One prepares by first taking in God's Word. Hello Charlie Yohnah, I am in search of you as a cool breeze across the mountains. My dear one, I am Kiara. I am as the Country Girl of Shulammite in the Song of Songs. The purpose of this Letter is a Witness, an ordered mandate by Love. Love: "He ordered us to preach to the people and to give a thorough witness." Acts 10:42.

It is the first letter I have the privilege and honor to pen to You. I am writing to you in particular my dear one. These are the Letters of Kiara penned in the spirit of truth by the divine Almighty spirit; our helper, our comforter, our truest friend, Jehovah is our God forever and ever Amen. Our helper will not leave us never will he forsake us my dear one. Awaken to love beloved Charles as we are living on earth here in the last days before Armageddon.

Kiara voices God's Word aloud as well as some of the ancient biblical prophets of long ago. The voices of the prophets are being heard as a warning call

Loss and Deception (The Story of Judah and Tamar) - DETAIL

Loss and Deception (The Story of Judah and Tamar) - DETAIL

So as the story goes, many years ago, Judah, one of the twelve sons of Jacob, had his own three sons. The oldest son (Er) married a woman named Tamar.

For reasons that we may never know, he died. Evil in ways not recorded and leaving his wife a widow. And according to law and tradition she was given to the next brother - Onan. A man who went erroneously down in history as the guilt bearer of masturbation. Not that he did. When sleeping with Tamar, he would withdraw from her to "spill his seed upon the ground" for he could not bear the thought that his offspring would, by law, be his brother's. Then soon too he died. Not for reasons of dirty sheets or selfishness, but for reasons bigger than he (or her) could even fathom.

So went Tamar. Yearning in her passing seasons, denied her harvest and burning like the Judean sun.

Judah...now with the loss of his two eldest sons, still had a third. Too young yet to marry, but what if he too would go the way of his eldest? Perhaps this woman was accursed? Poisoned wombed. Widow maker.

Judah denied her him. Yet Tamar's womb kindled with a storm that even she did not understand. The desire to bear a child is already a force lost to understanding on those without that call. But...

Tamar's....was more. Perhaps more than any other woman who has ever lived. There is an "I want" and there is an "I need." This was "there shall be." As God in his thunder rains life and death and glory and redeeming blood, she would have a child.

Then Judah's wife too falls dead. His life now written in the language of loss. Two sons, a wife and a brother sold into slavery. He goes to his place of grieving and Tamar to hers. Two husbands and a womb of fire.

But life forces its ways. A time of grieving passes and not that his was, but he left his grieving to return to his fields. This Tamar heard. And a plan was devised, mixed of need and a force beyond her understanding. And she went to town....

Dressed as a prostitute she sat upon the roadway for her father in law. Did she desire him or was it the child that called from the distant unseen country to demand existence?

And as the story goes, Judah saw her along the roadway. Her identity veiled, yet was there something familiar? What was it, Judah? Was it the stretch of the leg, the poem of her hips, or was it a spark of healing, familiar in it's voice and a salve for the wounds of loss?

And so he layed with her. The details of the tryst lost to history, but one can imagine. Did he merely sleep with the willing or in his awkward aging thrusts, taste a love lost to death?

Regardless, the deed was done and payment was expected. The goat he offered was obviously not in his possession, so he left his staff, his sash and his ring as promise for the forthcoming payment. And they parted.

Judah sent his servant with payment, but as the events played out, she was gone. He returned quickly to avoid the greater cost of shame for his master.

In the time to come, word came back to Judah - Tamar has been a prostitute and is now pregnant...

"Bring her out and have her burned to death!" he cried. So they found Tamar, ripe with child and seized her for her sin.

And as they were brought her in she sent a message to deliver. Holding the staff, the ring and the sash, she said, "I am pregnant by the man who owns these."

And before Judah, the day gave up his secrets and his shame rained upon him like falling trees. "More righteous than I," he said of her. And did he weep? We do not know. He never slept with her again and in the months to come, she would give birth to, not just one, but two boys. The details of the one who thrust his hand out first and tied with a scarlet cord, only to withdraw back into the womb to make way for his brother is perhaps for another day.

But on that day, Tamar's longing found finally fruition. Two sons - Perez and Zerah (of the scarlet cord)

But what now of all this? Incest, death, spilled seed and hard won offspring? Just another twisted exchange in the pages of history?

Not until the story completes itself in the centuries to come did all of it become clear. For if one believes in such things, there was a lineage spelled out in a bloodline that began with a man named Abraham and ended with a foretold Messiah. Whether Jesus was the Messiah is not for this story to argue, but his history reached backwards through a litany of names unknown to most - Jacob, Akim, Manasseh, David, Perez....and a woman who just wanted a baby.

Tamar. Tamar and Judah. Onan forfeited his role in history and it was completed through a deception. There are some things that just need to happen.

Christmas bear and some baby dolls in a box in the can along with a barbie carrier

Christmas bear and some baby dolls in a box in the can along with a barbie carrier

I pulled up to one of my last stops Friday to a pile of dolls as well as a mom and daughter arguing. Unlike most arguments it was the mom who was upset that the dolls were out for the trash. The daughter had a half day so she got home from school before the trash was collected. Unfortunately for her I was running later than usual and her mom arrived home right before I pulled up.

I overheard the conversation while I waited for them to decide what they were going to do I managed to sneak a few pictures

Mom pulls in as my truck pulls to a stop and sees the pile and yells at her daughter to get outside immediately.
She then asks me if i mind waiting just a moment she gives me 20 bucks so I say sure.
Daughter(Stephanie) runs out with an annoyed look on her face: What is it?

Mom: What are all these dolls doing in the garbage.

Stephanie: I threw them away because I am in JR high now and I don't want a bunch of baby toys in my room.

Mom has moved over to the trash pile and is picking up some of the dolls and looking them over

Mom: Your Aunt gave you this one for your birthday
The mother said picking up one of the cabbage patch dolls and waving it at her daughter as she did she realized the doll was wearing a dirty diaper

Mom:Oh my god did you put your brother's dirty diapers on these dolls?
Stephanie:Yes
Mom: Why whoud you do something so disgusting to these poor dolls?
Stephanie:Because I knew if you got home before the trash was picked up you would freak out and try to bring these stupid dolls back inside. I figured with Brennan's shi**y diapers on them you would have no choice but to let me throw them away.
Mom: Since you ruined them I guess you will get your wish and since you made this mess you can clean it up.
She realizes I have been waiting for them to finish to load any of the trash and says: I am sorry to keep you waiting apparently my daughter has some garbage she wishes to dispose of please allow her to load it in the truck for you.

Please forgive me, Chi Chi. Momma's always have to do the dirty work...

Children and Grief: When a Parent Dies

Children and Grief: When a Parent Dies

Drawing upon extensive interviews and assessments of school-age children who have lost a parent to death, this book offers a portrait of the mourning process in children. The volume presents major findings from the Harvard Child Bereavement Study and places them in the context of previous research, shedding new light on both the wide range of normal variation in children's experience of grief and the factors that put bereaved children at risk. The book also compares parentally bereaved children with those who have suffered loss of a sibling to death, or of a parent through divorce, exploring similarities and differences in these experiences of loss. A concluding section explores the clinical implications of the findings and includes a review of intervention models and activities, as well as a screening instrument designed to help identify high-risk bereaved children.

Surrender The Rain

Surrender The Rain

“'Was there one thing in particular that caused you to lose your faith in God?' I asked at the outset.
He thought for a moment. 'It was a photograph in Life magazine,' he said finally.
'Really?' I said. 'A photograph? How so?'
He narrowed his eyes a bit and looked off to the side, as if he were viewing the photo afresh and reliving the moment. 'It was a picture of a black woman in Northern Africa,' he explained. 'They were experiencing a devastating drought. And she was holding her dead baby in her arms and looking up to heaven with the most forlorn expression. I looked at it and I thought, “Is it possible to believe that there is a loving or caring Creator when all this woman needed was rain?”'
As he emphasized the word rain, his bushy gray eyebrows shot up and his arms gestured toward heaven as if beckoning for a response.
'How could a loving God do this to that woman?' he implored as he got more animated, moving to the edge of his chair. 'Who runs the rain? I don't; you don't. He does - or that's what I thought. But when I saw that photograph, I immediately knew it is not possible for this to happen and for there to be a loving God. There was no way. Who else but a fiend could destroy a baby and virtually kill its mother with agony – when all that was needed was rain?'” - Lee Strobel interviewing Charles Templeton

“Faith drained them of the guilt that had oppressed them. Faith replaced despondency with hope. Faith infused them with new direction and purpose. Faith unlocked heaven. Faith was like cool water soaking their parched souls.” -Strobel

So here is something I have wanted to write on for a few weeks now. I think that this will be significantly different from some of my earlier writings, in that it is focused more on quotes from scripture rather than my own opinion. So, here goes nothing...
Earlier today I was taking part in a short conversation about free will. How much free will do we have and how much control does God exert over us. Let's take it a step further. How much control does God exert over the world. C.S. Lewis, when talking about miracles, once said that you don't have to look far to find a miracle of God: if you look at a vineyard you will find God taking water from the sky and making it into wine everyday; if you look in the sea you will see God taking one fish and turning it into enough to feed five thousand. The miracles of nature are being performed everyday. But how? We see God's creation still limping along trying to fulfill the purposes God created them for, recreating his miracles. I want to use one of Joe's most quoted verses:

“Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!” Luke 12:24-28

God provides for them. That seems to lean more towards Templeton, who would say because God did not provide, he does not exist. But I think that the fundamental issue we are looking at is possibly a bit different than it first appears. You shouldn't worry about tomorrow, you should trust God to provide. But to hold that alone is to take a verse and twist it. Another verse:

"My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying 'One sows and another reaps' is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor." John 4:34-38

And another:

“Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” -Luke 12:33-34

So now what does the story say? God will provide, both for our bodies and our spirits, real food and spiritual food. How do we get this food? We can't just expect mana from Heaven... honestly. He says it right there! Doing the work of the Father! So now we've established that this is important, food from God is the fruit of serving him.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing... This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, sh

Sunflower Sutra

I walked on the banks of the tincan banana dock and sat down under the huge shade of a Southern Pacific locomotive to look for the sunset over the box house hills and cry.

Jack Kerouac sat beside me on a busted rusty iron pole, companion, we thought the same thoughts of the soul, bleak and blue and sad-eyed, surrounded by the gnarled steel roots of trees of machinery.

The only water on the river mirrored the red sky, sun sank on top of final Frisco peaks, no fish in that stream, no hermit in those mounts, just ourselves rheumy-eyed and hung-over like old bums on the riverbank, tired and wily.

Look at the Sunflower, he said, there was a dead gray shadow against the sky, big as a man, sitting dry on top of a pile of ancient sawdust--

--I rushed up enchanted--it was my first sunflower, memories of Blake--my visions--Harlem

and Hells of the Eastern rivers, bridges clanking Joes greasy Sandwiches, dead baby carriages, black treadless tires forgotten and unretreaded, the poem of the riverbank, condoms & pots, steel knives, nothing stainless, only the dank muck and the razor-sharp artifacts passing into the past--

and the gray Sunflower poised against the sunset, crackly bleak and dusty with the smut and smog and smoke of olden locomotives in its eye--

corolla of bleary spikes pushed down and broken like a battered crown, seeds fallen out of its face, soon-to-be-toothless mouth of sunny air, sunrays obliterated on its hairy head like a dried wire spiderweb,

leaves stuck out like arms out of the stem, gestures from the sawdust root, broke pieces of plaster fallen out of the black twigs, a dead fly in its ear,

Unholy battered old thing you were, my sunflower O my soul, I loved you then!

The grime was no man's grime but death and human locomotives,

all that dress of dust, that veil of darkened railroad skin, that smog of cheek, that eyelid of black mis'ry, that sooty hand or phallus or protuberance of artificial worse-than-dirt--industrial--modern--all that civilization spotting your crazy golden crown--

and those blear thoughts of death and dusty loveless eyes and ends and withered roots below, in the home-pile of sand and sawdust, rubber dollar bills, skin of machinery, the guts and innards of the weeping coughing car, the empty lonely tincans with their rusty tongues alack, what more could I name, the smoked ashes of some cock cigar, the cunts of wheelbarrows and the milky breasts of cars, wornout asses out of chairs & sphincters of dynamos--all these

entangled in your mummied roots--and you standing before me in the sunset, all your glory in your form!

A perfect beauty of a sunflower! a perfect excellent lovely sunflower existence! a sweet natural eye to the new hip moon, woke up alive and excited grasping in the sunset shadow sunrise golden monthly breeze!

How many flies buzzed round you innocent of your grime, while you cursed the heavens of your railroad and your flower soul?

Poor dead flower? when did you forget you were a flower? when did you look at your skin and decide you were an impotent dirty old locomotive? the ghost of a locomotive? the specter and shade of a once powerful mad American locomotive?

You were never no locomotive, Sunflower, you were a sunflower!

And you Locomotive, you are a locomotive, forget me not!

So I grabbed up the skeleton thick sunflower and stuck it at my side like a scepter,

and deliver my sermon to my soul, and Jack's soul too, and anyone who'll listen,

--We're not our skin of grime, we're not our dread bleak dusty imageless locomotive, we're all golden sunflowers inside, blessed by our own seed & hairy naked accomplishment-bodies growing into mad black formal sunflowers in the sunset, spied on by our eyes under the shadow of the mad locomotive riverbank sunset Frisco hilly tincan evening sitdown vision.
